FINAL FOUR!

31 03 2008

Wow…I can’t believe this year’s SnL retreat is almost here! The FINAL FOUR days until retreat are finally here. After planning for several months, I’m really looking forward to this unique retreat. This will be my second retreat this year, but unlike the other one at a camp facility, this will be quite different. It’s at the Jersey shore…in a beach house! I look forward to being able to relax…to refocus in on God and his presence…to spend quality time with my brothers and sisters…to possibly take a morning walk on the beach and enjoying God’s creation…to have the chance to serve and cook a little for wonderful people. There should be plenty of food..I guarantee it…I’ve been buying up a bunch of stuff for the past few weeks. If there’s not enough…well…I guess I’ll go buy more while we’re there. So think about the retreat throughout this week. I’m sure I will be, especially during my evening and night shifts this week through Thursday. Prepare your hearts, and pray for the retreat. See you on Friday!

5 Days until RETREAT!

30 03 2008

SMILEYYou know what…it’s after 11pm and it’s Sunday.  I should be going to sleep….yet I’m wide awake thinking about the retreat this Friday.  There have been a group of people working really hard to make this retreat an experience unlike any retreat we’ve ever had before in SNL!   And I use the word “unlike” in a good way…. an exciting way.   We’ll have Good Food….I promise, if you don’t like it….I’ll buy you lunch one day (I would cook for you, but I don’t think that’s the solution).  We’ll have a Nice House…. I promise, if you don’t think it’s nice…. I’ll show you pictures of my old apartment.   We’ll have Cool People…. I promise, if you don’t think people are cool….I’ll…um…… ask you to teach a class on how to be cool.  Anyways….please PRAY for retreat also.  Search your hearts, prepare your heart and your minds.  What are your expectations for this retreat?

Salt and Light Retreat: Loving the Local Church

1 03 2008

Beach

Hello There … Yes YOU!

SnL’s yearly retreat is coming up April 4-April 6.  Are you planning to come?  I hope so, because I want to see your LOVELY face!  We’re going to be retreating to Sea Isle City, NJ for the weekend.  Retreats are definitely a great place to get away for the weekend to connect with other brothers and sisters in Christ and to ultimately connect with God. There are moments were you just feel like you need to be STILL and QUIET before God so that you can continue to seek His will in everything you do.  Well, retreats are a perfect time to get those STILL and QUIET moments!

It will also be a great time to renew or make commitments to God and learn what loving the local church means.  There’s a quote I read that I like, “Motivation will get us started, but habit will keep us going”.  Some of us may need extra “motivation” to help us get back on track with pursuing God with all our hearts.  Then the “habit” will continue to pick up when those brothers and sisters in Christ you connected with over the weekend support you in your walk with God.

COME COME COME!  If you are interested in coming to the retreat, email Desmond Ling (Desmond.K.Ling@gmail.com).

See YOU at the RETREAT!  More Info…Click Below
