Let’s Rethink, Revisit, and Review our Retreat last Month.  How many times have you been to a retreat and have forgotten what you have just learned?  Well…Our April Retreat was on the topic of Influence.  Join us as we go over what we learned last month.  As usual dinner is served at 6:30 pm at Vine Campus.  Menus are from Sang Kee and Tasty Place.  But this time, please submit your order to Jason Lin (zxlin@mail.widener.edu) before Friday.

Countdown to Retreat! One…

One day left until the retreat…jeez..time sure flies! I always liked retreats. A getaway from the busy busy world…and…, catch up on sleep, catch up on friends, catch up on weight, catch up on play!..catch up on…your heart. And after a great weekend you’re fully rejuvenated to take on the world! So let’s come together this weekend and find out what it takes to be a person of influence, more importantly, a person of influence in a God centered way. -=)

By the way, I realized the majority of the group loves television. Common who doesn’t watch soaps…dramas…Korean dramas…TVB…..24……Days of our lives???!!! Well do you want some soaps for the weekend?! Needless to worry we got it all taken care of! Hmm… what could it be? The last episode of Grey’s Anatomy? Who knows so… let’s find out tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!! -=DDD

Countdown to Retreat! Two…

TWO Days!

Hey everyone,

Can you believe that we are now two days away from the retreat? This will be my third SNL retreat, and I am looking forward to it again. Last year was great at the beach house, but this year should be just as great in the Poconos! I look forward to A LOT of things…from learning more about influence to spending some quality time with my brothers and sisters to the great food provided by the retreat cooking team. Like last year, there should be plenty of food again…I guarantee it or I’m going to have to catch some fish from the lake and cook that. Oh yeah, did I just mention fishing? I look forward to that too! I got my fishing license already and my fishing pole is ready to go. If you like to fish, BYOL (bring your own license) and BYOP (bring your own pole) this weekend. So much to look forward to… Anyway, with the retreat two days away, please prepare your hearts through prayer. I look foward to seeing and serving each of you at the retreat. See you all on Friday.

Countdown to Retreat! Three…

Can you count the number of mice there are on the left? Well… that’s how many days there are until retreat. Do you ever feel like you aren’t sure what your doing in life?  Do you feel blind to how you can be an Influence in the lives of people around you?  Hopefully we’ll be able to shed some light on these things this weekend.  Hope you guys are looking forward to this weekend. - Ray

Countdown to Retreat! Four…

Did you know that if you google search “four” and hit “I’m feeling lucky”, you get my textbook for school and for life?  According to this website, “four” follows “3″ and precedes “5″. “Four” can also mean the 4th month of the year, which is April, the month of our retreat. Interestingly, “four” also represents the number of gospels in the new testament.  At retreat, one of the messages will be on Matthew and what it means to be salt and light (after all, this is what SNL stands for, and not Singles N’ Looking). I look forward to hearing what the speaker, Pastor Matt Connally, has to say about this topic as well as being able to spend a relaxing weekend with everyone. Our drama team, led by Sonny Wu, has put together a great skit to help illustrate the topic of “influence”.  I’ve gotten a sneak preview of it and it’s definitely something to look forward to.

Hey SNLers, 

If you’re not already excited about the retreat, here’s another thing to get excited about – Ultimate Frisbee!  Imagine how refreshing it will be to inbibe the fresh pocono air, run around an open field haphazardly, and scream non-obscene encouragements at your frisbee teammates.  I sincerely hope and pray that the thrill of friendly competition, the revitalizing nature of active fellowship, and the chance to revel in God’s creation will soon penetrate your spirits and get your adrenaline going for this year’s SNL retreat!

It’s time for the annual Spring Cleanup!  We will be cleaning the Church, Chinatown, and Callowhill.  Meet us at the Spring Campus, 9am on 3/21 while we join with the church and community in this event.
